Blessed relief is here! Now, no need to cross your legs in agony any more-- there is a website dedicated to listing all the public restrooms in France, Switzerland and Belgium. Geopipi gives all the details, from cleanliness to price, to handicap accessibility.
Fabulous, especially for anyone with a BlackBerry. Fortunately, Geopipi will soon be available on GPS.

This is great news! 'Geopipi' is perfect, isn't it? Love that zesty, breezy French way with words.
Btw, I'm a new fan of, and subscriber to, your blog. I make it to Paris two or three times a year (will be there in March, for example), so I'm always on the lookout for fun and informative sites such as yours. At first, I thought your blog was authored by Polly Platt, but that was before I actually visited it! Bonne continuation.
Hi Laura,
Glad you like the blog. Geopipi is such a great idea. Maybe should get published in booklet form for Paris!
Also - I'm not only a great admirer of Polly Platt, but have been her copyeditor for her next book. Stay tuned!
The Australian one (available both in paper and online) was created in 2001:

I used to work down the corridor from the people responsible!
Anne,
Thanks for that link. Perhaps a worldwide database is in order! I just found this link to new potties in NYC - I like the graphic!

There's something similar in at least one part of London. It's being called SatLav.
