I found these antique snaps at a small mercerie -- a thread and button shop -- near the Marché St. Pierre in Montmartre.
What do I find so appealing in these simple snaps? Certainly the graphic design, also the slogan "The modern non-rusting button."
And of course, Veutenir means "wants to hold."
