Another Day, Another Dollar

A familiar figure in the Jardin des Tuileries.
The next question, of course, has to do with voluntary pecuniary remuneration. The sunglass-ed tourist lady handed her a 5€ bill!

Since $5 only around €0.50 these days, I'm surprised she accepted it.

(Not that I'm feeling grumpy about the exchange rate or anything.)

Wow. The baby-in-a-sling scam is so well known it's even the Rick Steves guidebooks. Nice opening line.

You may see me out there asking if people speak english. Anyone have a baby can borrow... I mean babysit?

She didn't have a baby in a sling, just chutzpah in a sling.

Misplaced, I'm sure you can work on your act sans bebe! You could offer to sell some of your great Parisian prose -- it's priceless!

I do mean 'priceless' as in, worth infinite amounts of euros...

Misplaced, i've got 2 kids you can watch. I get 50% of the take though.
I tell them, in perfect English, that "no I dont speak English have a great day". This seems to annoy them more than they annoy me.
