Paris is for walking... and for sitting

Paris is for walking.

Then after all that walking, it's time to take a rest.

I love the benches and other seats in Paris.  The chairs scattered in the Tuileries or the Jardin du Luxembourg.  And the benches just about everywhere.

Some favorites:

Sunday in the garden of the Jardin des Plantes in the 5e

Square Ozanam in the 6e

Les jardins des Serres d'Auteuil in the 16e

Sitting is an art, of course.

 In Paris, anyway.

You can tell those benches aren't in America. No two ton lard-ass eating a fried twinkie on a stick, a homeless guy sleeping or a skater punk spray painting his misspelled name on it.

quite frankly my lard ass fits just fine on those benches, and last time I was in Paris I had to shoo away a few skater punks from the benches and tell them to go "relieve" themselves somewhere more appropriate. I love Paris more than I can say, but America doesnt hold the patent on annoyances.
My favorite chairs in Paris are those green ones that slant really far down. You just have to sit longer.
