Um, no offense, Iceland. But, really?
I have to look at this ad every day on my way to work. Irk!
I love aurora borealis as much as the next person. But the best part of a trip to Paris is Paris.
The Polly-Vous Francais challenge: besides Paris in general, what do you think is the best part of a trip to Paris?
p.s. Yes that's me taking the photo. Sorry for the glare.

The best part of a trip to Paris would be not having to go home.
Difficult question! So many best parts... the places that make me happiest are the Seine/bouquinistes and the Luxembourg Gardens (where I just feel really serene)...but then in a more abstract sense, the best parts are also revisiting my old haunts, since I've been to Paris many times... On the other hand, that revisiting is sometimes the worst part!
I actually stopped in Iceland on my way to Paris this past September, and if you have to make a lay over, I would recomend it. The airport was clean, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Icelandair had great planes, amazing flight attendants and great in flight entertainment. While I agree that the best part of Paris is Paris, because of Icelandair my next European trip will be to Reykjavik
Because we've made this an annual tradition, a trip to Paris represents not just all the city's treasure, but an accumulation of memories shared with my husband. . . and I look forward to each trip's focus on each other, the riches of Paris as background. . . for now, Iceland is not in the picture!
I couldn't begin to enumerate the best parts of a trip to Paris. But walking home --safely -- in the evening after a great night out would somehow work to the top.
As far as Iceland goes, it is lovely. But friends who went there recently came home feeling really gouged by the prices. I'd love to hear other views!!
Best part of a trip to Paris? Beloved life-long French friends, family and near-family...by far.
The anticipation, the sense that there could always be something magical waiting to happen.
(Actually I could see a combination of the wildness and natural drama of Iceland and the urban sophistications of Paris as a pretty stimulating contrast - the former might make one appreciate the latter even more).
Saw your photo in New York Social Diary. Should have told us!
Entering an establishment and being greeted with a big smile and a very melodic 'Bon Jour!'
Oh, I love nothing but Paris! But I think, living there would be quiet hard.
Anonymous, Thanks for the h/t from NYSD, but actually I was unaware also!
Bella, Living in Paris isn't nearly so hard as one might think. It's actually a delight! Paperwork-filled, but nevertheless, a delight.
