Curious (non) connections?

This photo just appeared in the Huffington Post's "Funniest Protest Signs of 2009," which admittedly has some real doozies.  Check 'em out.

But curiously, the HuffPo caption for the photo was "Polly Vous Francais?"

Trust me, HuffPo, I didn't submit that.

  3. Yes, it's always good thing to have a well-honed sense of humor (usually).

Maybe it's time to trademark the name? (ooh, the expense!)

I left a comment in their comments section and decided to call it a night.

  4. My local used-book store today yielded up not one, but two! Polly Platt books--French or Foe? and Savoir Flair! Thanks to you, I immediately recognized them as the literary gems they are sure to be and snapped them up.

  7. It's maybe not a protest sign but a compliment, I think.
French is (recently) trendy in USA!

  8. It's a very curious and clever protest sign. People equate health care reform with Socialism and Socialism with France. Certain Americans enjoy insulting the French in ways that they would never use against any other country. That sign encorporates a lot into one small statement. (I made it my screen saver photo!!!)
