Mais il est ou le soleil?

When you've had a mostly gray and cool summer like we've had this year in Paris, it doesn't take much to wonder, "Where is the sun, anyway?" So no wonder I stopped in my tracks when I saw this clothing boutique on rue des Quatre Vents in the 6e arrondissement.

The eponymous Mais il est où le soleil? brand has a popular following, and the flagship store is in Brussels -- where there's no shortage of sunshine-deprivation, from what I hear.

The sign in the shop window announced an early September opening of the boutique, the first in Paris.

  1. I had the impression the formulation "Mais il(s) est(sont) oû.." might be a football supporters' chant..?

  2. Actualy the un decided to take holidays and to come back when I'll take mine.

@ autolycus : it is also... but not only... you use "mais il est où whatever ?" when you've lost something, when something vanished and you desparately look for it. In a supporter song it is quite ironic.
