Ya gotta love Paris

For all the other Pollys in the world, another reason to love Paris.

Rue Parrot in the 12th arrondissement.

And no Polly-wanna-cracker jokes.

Yes, we've all heard it so many times before. I actually specify that my name is "Polly, like Polly Wanna Cracker" nowadays, because everyone wants to spell it "Paulie." ( ?)

I am surprised that sign is still there and not in your home as a fun decoration! He, he.

Polly,

I get the "Paulie" question all the time in the states. Of course, in France, they think it is "poli," which means polite!

Lady Jicky,
I of course was sorely tempted but good citizen that I am will have to remain content with the photo of the sign...

And here is a parrot column from last weekend's NYTimes, and bless him, the author didn't use the word Polly once!

When I was 12 (long, long ago), I saw a parrot at the Minnesota Zoo aviary. I innocently asked, "Polly want a cracker?" The bird replied, "Shut up."
"What did you say?" I asked, astonished.
"You're stupid," said the bird.
In my defense, I was 12. But the bird taught me a valuable lesson.
